Retweet: Twitter Tells Users To Go Fu*k Themselves

June 23, 2010 by Raj Agrawal 4 Comments

Twitter spokesman, Mark Logan responds candidly to some of the common issues faced by users on Twitter.com

The ‘Fail Whale’

Twitter has been in news for crashing down recurrently. With too much weight of traffic, tweets and re-tweets, twitter.com seems to be tumbling down often. Some users are complaining about too much spam and claiming that twitter is ruining English language. Well, Twitter has heard all these complains and has responded with an answer.

Oookay… It’s not really a response by Twitter, but a  hilarious video made by Comedy.com portraying how Twitter would have reacted (hypothetically) with those issues floating around their mind.

The Mactini – A Glimpse Into The Future Of Computer Technology

June 1, 2010 by Raj Agrawal 5 Comments

The world’s smallest computer with only one button

The Mactini

Forget Netbooks. Apple has redefined the meaning of portability with it’s upcoming product, The Mactini. With it’s super ultra portable size, your computing experience will be like never before. It is the future of portable computers… Not! This is not true. Don’t fall for my cheap selling skills.

It’s actually a hilarious sketch from The Peter Serafinowicz Show, that was aired on BBC 2 as a Christmas Special in the year 2008. In this sketch, Peter Serafinowicz the “Apple guy John” demonstrates the working of the impossibly small Mac Computer, called the ‘Mactini’ with only one button on it’s keypad. The video is pretty old, but worth revisiting again :D. Watch it:

Think about it, if say hypothetically this is true, what reason would make you buy the Mactini?

Google ISP, Offering 1 Gbps Data Transfer Speed

February 11, 2010 by Raj Agrawal 5 Comments

An experiment

Google has recently announced the trial run of it’s new project, fiber-to-home internet access at the speed of 1 Gb per second. Google is seeking information from interested municipalities in America about locations to build the network. It plans to serve around 50,000 to 5,00,000 people in it’s initial phase.

Google says:

Our goal is to experiment with new ways to help make Internet access better, and faster for everyone. Here are some specific things that we have in mind:

Next generation apps:  We want to see what developers and users can do with ultra high-speeds, whether it’s creating new bandwidth-intensive “killer apps” and services, or other uses we can’t yet imagine.

New deployment techniques: We’ll test new ways to build fiber networks; to help inform, and support deployments elsewhere, we’ll share key lessons learned with the world.

Openness and choice: We’ll operate an “open access” network, giving users the choice of multiple service providers. And consistent with our past advocacy, we’ll manage our network in an open, non-discriminatory, and transparent way.
Even though the service will be launched in selected markets, this is a big step toward the much needed revamp of ISP market all over. It’s pretty clear that Google is preparing and making it’s first step for the future of it’s online based products and not to forget, Chrome OS which entirely based on cloud computing.
