The Day When Gmail Was Caught Nude In Public

February 5, 2009 by Raj Agrawal 11 Comments

Oh yes, there’s proof!

It all happened when Firefox was on it’s way to display my Gmail Inbox, but instead of displaying the usual Gmail inbox page, the browser landed in Gmail’s FTP directory. I found it interesting to peep in a little bit, because not only is this unusual, it was also fascinating enough to give me an adrenaline rush!

What’s surprising is that Gmail was in this state for a long 10 – 12 minutes and generally, this could happen due to a couple of technical reasons. Oh and did you see the third screen shot? I wonder what were those for.

One Step Closer To A MAC OS Makeover

January 28, 2009 by Raj Agrawal 2 Comments

Transformation Pack does it

While thinking about MAC, the first thing that comes to my mind is it’s subtle, sophisticated & rich desktop environment and I know there are a bunch of “manual transformation methods” available on the web that “help you” achieve the MAC OS look(kind of). You can search for and try those methods with the help of your favorite search engine. But, if you just don’t wish to spend your time the manual way, then you can very well use the Flykite OSX transformation Pack. It does what it needs to achieve that rich MAC desktop feel, except that it does not include some of the coolest effects found in the actual MAC (which might be availble in the future version).

Unmasking the hidden potential of Windows XP

December 21, 2008 by Raj Agrawal 3 Comments

The best approach to boost the system performance

Truely, Windows XP is the most flexible, fast and very easy to operate. I think Ubuntu, being a freeware and a community developed OS, can give a good competition to Windows XP in future only if it is consistently worked on for improvement. I won’t call a Windows OS or any of the Linux derivatives “secure”, as one thing i’ve understood that no matter how capable human can be, everything will be vulnerable to something, as being “imperfect” is the stubborn rule of the system we live in.

Below are the  useful topics related to boosting, securing and again speeding the operations in Windows XP.  So, in this one, i’m clubbing all of them into one to make a complete user guide to ‘Unmasking the hidden potential of Windows XP’ :

  • Using the Auto Shutdown Feature In Windows X
  • Optimizing The RAM Speed Windows XP Style
  • Turning Off the Useless Services In Windows XP
  • Kicking Out The Autorun Viruses Manually
  • How To Achieve Better Security
